Although Powtoon includes a large selection of templates that can be customized easily for your needs, at times you may prefer to create a Powtoon from scratch. When you have a specific idea or storyboard in mind, beginning your Powtoon with a blank canvas will enable you to take your video in any direction that you want.
- Log in to your Powtoon account and access the Powtoon Workspace.

- In the side panel, click Blank.

- Select the aspect ratio that best fits the Powtoon you want to create.

The Studio opens with a blank stage, ready for you to begin creating your Powtoon.
By default, the Studio opens with the Modern Edge look. A Powtoon look is a design theme that determines the tone of the video. In order to maintain design consistency, each look includes characters, props, shapes, and other objects designed specifically for the look. If you'd like, you can switch to another Powtoon look by clicking the ▼ in the looks drop-down list.
