Uploading a Video

In addition to the videos that are included in the Powtoon libraries, you can also upload a video directly from your computer or social media channel.
 
Important:
In the Powtoon Studio, you need to be working in Create mode in order to upload a video.

Uploading your Video

  1. Navigate to the slide to which you want to upload a video. This will be the slide on which the video begins.
  1. Select the Videos tab and then click Upload video.
  1. Use one of the following options:
    1. Click Upload to upload a video from your computer.
    2. Click one of the social media icons to upload your video from the relevant channel: Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, Google Drive, Google Photos
Important:
1. File type must be MP4
2. If the video is longer then 3 minutes, you will need to trim the video.

 

Trimming your Video

If you select a video that is longer then 3 minutes, you will be prompted to trim the video. This will allow you to select the specific section of the video you want to upload into Powtoon.
  1. Drag the handles on the video timeline to the desired start and end position.
  2. You can preview the selection, to make sure it fits your needs.
  3. Click Apply to complete the upload process

Important:
If the duration of the video you are uploading is longer then the slide, you will see an additional pop-up. You will need to choose between two options
1.Extend Length - This will extend the length of the slide to fit the video
2.Trim Video - This will trim the video, to fit the duration of the slide.
While the video is uploading, a progress bar is displayed on the slide.
After the video has uploaded, it is also added to My Videos, your personal video library, ready for future use.

Adjusting the Volume of your Video

Only video that has been added to the timeline can have the volume adjusted. Background video can only be muted.
  1. Once you have added your video to the timeline, adjust the sound of the video, and main soundtrack to fine tine the audio of your Powtoon.
    Select the video, and click on settings
  1. Click Sound.
  1. Adjust the volume, and select the option to reduce the volume of the main soundtrack automatically, according to your needs.
