If the Powtoon that you are creating includes a video background - as part of a template or added independently by you - it is very easy to swap out the video for any other in the Powtoon libraries.
The new video will replace the original video in its entirety on a single slide. If the new video is longer than the current slide, you will be prompted to either extend the slide, or shorten the video.

Swapping a video
- In the slide panel, select any thumbnail that includes the video that you want to swap out.

- In the upper left corner of the slide, click Swap.
You can also right-click on the slide and select Swap background.

The following message will be displayed:

When the new video is shorter than the original
- The new video will replace the original video on exactly the same slide.
- The new video will play until its end, after which the last frame will be displayed as a static image until the end of the last slide.
In the example below:
1. The original video is 27 seconds: 10 seconds on slide #1 and 17 seconds on slide #2.
2. The new video is 12 seconds: 10 seconds on slide #1 and 2 seconds on slide #2.
3. Since the length of slide #2 is 17 seconds, the last frame of the new video will display as a
static image on the slide for the remainder of the slide (15 seconds).

- You will be given the option to automatically extend the slide to fit the video the entire video, or keep the slide unchanged, and automatically shorten the video.
