By default, all objects (including text) added to your Powtoon are 100% opaque. This means that the color is 100% solid and not transparent.
It is possible to reduce the opacity of the color, thereby increasing the transparency.

Following are some examples of when this may be useful
- Making an image lighter so that it doesn't interfere with text placed on top of it
- Lightening the color of an object
- When layering objects. In the example below, the magnifying glass's transparency was increased in order to display the paper clip layered beneath it.
To change the opacity of an object:
- Select the object and then click the Settings gear above the object.
- On the pop-up menu, click Opacity.
By default, the percentage slider will be set to 100%, which means that the color is 100% solid and not transparent at all.
3. With your mouse, drag the slider to the desired degree of opacity. In the example below, the
opacity has been set to 40%, thereby increasing the transparency of the object.
