Option 1
- Click on the Audio button ( ) on the from the library menu on the right side of the screen.
- Click on Text to speech.

- Click the upload media button
- Click Voiceover.
- Click Text to Speech.

Once you have opened the Text to speech module, you can add the text you want to convert into a voiceover, select the language, the voice style, and preview the audio.
- Add your text to the main text box.
- Select the voice actors accent you want.
- Select the voice actor you wish to use.
- Click Let's hear to preview your audio file.
Once the voiceover is finished generating, it will automatically begin to play. You can continue to add or remove text, change the language and voice actor. Keep in mind that you will need to generate a new voiceover after each change you make.
If you are satisfied with your voiceover, follow these next steps to apply the voiceover to your Powtoon.
- Change the name of the audio file. The default name will always be the first few words of your text. In the example below, we have changed the file name to Intro voiceover by clicking existing text, and writing the desired name.
- Select Apply.
Using Text to Speech for Lip-Sync
- Select a lip-sync supported Character, and click on the voice button ( ).
- Select Text to Speech from the drop down menu.
- Add your text to the main text box
- Select the voice actors accent you want.
- Select the voice actor you wish to use.
- Click Let's hear to preview your audio file.

The voiceover will begin to sync with the character, so that the lip movement matches the audio file. This may take a few minutes, depending on the size of the voiceover.
Editing Text to Speech
Once a Text to Speech Audio file has been created, you can go back and edit it as needed. This will create a new copy of the audio file, rather then replacing the existing one.
- In the My Voiceover section, locate the text to speech audio, and click the 3 dots
- Click Edit a Copy.
- The Text to Speech Module will open, and you can make changes to your text to speech.
- When you select 'Save', a new copy of the file will be generated. The original text to speech file will remain unchanged.
