Keyboard shortcuts let you perform common actions in Powtoon Studio and on the player page without reaching for your mouse. This article covers all available shortcuts for both Mac and PC.
Before you start
- Open Powtoon Studio to use the editing shortcuts listed in the first section below.
- Navigate to the player page to use the playback shortcuts listed in the second section.
- Shortcuts differ between Mac and PC — check the correct column for your device.
Powtoon Studio keyboard shortcuts
The following shortcuts work while you are editing a Powtoon in Powtoon Studio. On Mac, use the ⌘ (Command) key where shown. On PC, use Ctrl.
Clipboard and selection
- Cut: Mac — ⌘ + X | PC — Ctrl + X
- Copy: Mac — ⌘ + C | PC — Ctrl + C
- Paste: Mac — ⌘ + V | PC — Ctrl + V
- Paste in place: Mac — ⌘ + Shift + V | PC — Ctrl + Shift + V
- Select all: Mac — ⌘ + A | PC — Ctrl + A
- Select multiple objects: Mac — ⌘ + click each object | PC — Ctrl + click each object
Editing and formatting
- Undo: Mac — ⌘ + Z | PC — Ctrl + Z
- Redo: Mac — ⌘ + Y or ⌘ + Shift + Z | PC — Ctrl + Y or Ctrl + Shift + Z
- Bold / unbold: Mac — ⌘ + B | PC — Ctrl + B

Object positioning and arrangement
- Move object or text to center of stage: Mac — ⌘ + M | PC — Ctrl + M

- Move 1 step: Arrow keys (Mac and PC)
- Move 10 steps: Shift + Arrow keys (Mac and PC)
- Rotate by 45° increments: Shift + rotate the object or text (Mac and PC)
- Drag object or text horizontally or vertically only: Shift + drag the object or text (Mac and PC)
- Drag the scene while zoomed in: Spacebar + drag the scene (Mac and PC)
- Remove selected object or text: Delete or Backspace (Mac and PC)
Playback in Powtoon Studio
- Play / pause the full Powtoon: Spacebar (Mac and PC)
- Play / pause the current slide only: Spacebar + Shift (Mac and PC)
Player page keyboard shortcuts
The following shortcuts work while you are viewing or presenting a Powtoon on the player page. Most shortcuts are the same on Mac and PC.
Playback controls
- Play / pause: Spacebar (Mac and PC)
- Jump forwards or backwards by 5 seconds (movie mode): Right / left arrow keys (Mac and PC)
- Jump to the next or previous slide (slideshow mode): Right / left arrow keys (Mac and PC)
- Increase or decrease volume by 5% increments: Up / down arrow keys (Mac and PC)
- Go to the beginning of the slideshow: Home key (Mac and PC)
- Mute / unmute: M (Mac and PC)
Full-screen controls
- Toggle full screen on or off: F (Mac and PC)
- Exit full screen: Esc (Mac and PC)
Use the shortcut that matches your device and the area you are working in. In Powtoon Studio, shortcuts help you edit and arrange content faster. On the player page, they give you quick control over playback during viewing or presenting.
