Powtoon Studio includes a large library of assets — characters, props, backgrounds, and more — that you can add to your Powtoon. Instead of browsing each library separately, you can use the search bar to find assets across all libraries at the same time.
Before you start
The search bar is available inside Powtoon Studio. Open or create a Powtoon to access it. The search bar is located in the toolbar on the right side of the screen, above the library panels.
How to search the Powtoon libraries
Searching the Powtoon libraries lets you find matching assets across every library simultaneously. Results are grouped by library type so you can quickly narrow down what you need.
- Click the search bar in the right-side toolbar.
- Type the term you are looking for and press Enter.
► As you type, Powtoon displays a list of suggested search terms based on your input. - From the list of suggestions, click the term that best matches what you are looking for.
A summary of results appears, grouped by library — for example, Characters, Props, and Backgrounds. - To view results from a specific library, click that library's name in the results summary.
► For example, clicking Props shows only the prop assets that match your search term. - Click the asset you want to add it to your Powtoon.
How to clear a search and return to the default library view
To exit search results and return to the standard library view, click the X in the search bar. The libraries return to their default browsing state.
Key facts about library search
When you search the Powtoon libraries, keep the following in mind:
- Every search runs across all Powtoon libraries at the same time — you do not need to search each library individually.
- Results are categorized by library type, making it straightforward to filter down to the asset category you need.
- Clicking the X in the search bar clears your search and restores the default library view.
Note: The asset libraries available to you may vary depending on your subscription plan.

Poutoon comes with a large variety of assets and media that you can use for creating your
poutoon.
These assets are located in the Poutoon Libraries, accessed from the toolbar on the right side
of the screen.
The search field will always be available on all Poutoon Libraries simultaneously.
Select one of the tabs on the toolbar on the right side.
In the search bar at the top, type what you are looking for and press enter.
In our example, we will search for cars.
From the list of suggestions, click the term that best matches what you are searching for.
A summary of the search results will be displayed, categorized according to library.
To see the results in a specific library, click the tab on the right.
In our example, the results from the props library are displayed.
Select the asset that you would like to use in your Poutoon.
