How to create a video with AI Text to Video (Seedance Pro)

Seedance Pro is an AI (artificial intelligence) video generation model that turns a text prompt into a short video. You can run it from your Workspace or from inside Powtoon Studio. Every video you generate is saved in the My Video section of your Powtoon account.

Generate a video from the Workspace

Use these steps to create a Seedance Pro video directly from your Workspace.

1. Click Create with AI on your Workspace.
2. Click the AI Text to Video module.
3. Select Seedance Pro.
4. Type a description of the video you want to generate.
5. Select your preferred aspect ratio and video length.
6. Click Generate video. Your video will be ready in a few moments.
7. Click the Play button to preview the result.
8. Choose what to do next:
   • ► Click Use in Studio to add the video to a Powtoon in Powtoon Studio.
   • ► Click Regenerate to generate the same prompt again.
   • ► Enter a new prompt and click Generate video to start fresh.

The generated video is saved automatically in the My Video section of your account.

Generate a video from Powtoon Studio

When you generate a video from inside Powtoon Studio, you have the option to add a single reference image. That image is used as the initial keyframe to guide the AI generation.

1. Click the Videos tab on the right side of Powtoon Studio.
2. Click the Generate Video thumbnail.
   ► If you want to use a reference image, upload it at this stage. The image will be set as the starting keyframe for your video.
3. Select Seedance Pro.
4. Type a description of the video you want to generate.
5. Select your preferred aspect ratio and video length.
6. Click Generate video. Your video will be ready in a few moments.
7. Click the Play button to preview the result.
8. Choose what to do next:
   • ► Click Add to scene to place the video on your current scene.
   • ► Click Regenerate to generate the same prompt again.
   • ► Enter a new prompt and click Generate video to start fresh.

The generated video is saved automatically in the My Video section of your account.

Costs per use

Seedance Pro uses AI Credits to generate each video. The number of AI Credits consumed depends on the length of the video you choose. Generating a 2-second video costs 3 AI Credits. Each additional second adds roughly 1 AI Credit, with a small step-up at 6 seconds and again at 11 seconds. A 12-second video costs 15 AI Credits.

The full cost schedule is as follows: 2 seconds costs 3 AI Credits; 3 seconds costs 4 AI Credits; 4 seconds costs 5 AI Credits; 5 seconds costs 6 AI Credits; 6 seconds costs 8 AI Credits; 7 seconds costs 9 AI Credits; 8 seconds costs 10 AI Credits; 9 seconds costs 11 AI Credits; 10 seconds costs 12 AI Credits; 11 seconds costs 14 AI Credits; 12 seconds costs 15 AI Credits.

Note: AI Credits are deducted at the point of generation. Regenerating a video or generating a new prompt each counts as a separate generation and deducts AI Credits accordingly.
